Good Times Technology has developed a process for producing reusable raw materials from old tires. Urban says the new facility would bring up to 800 jobs over five years. He says the company wants to take tires in from neighboring states as well, meaning it would need multiple plants. That could mean up to 5,000 jobs in ten years.
The company visited Connersville in July and plans another visit next month. Mayor Leonard also made a recent trip to China to tour Good Times Technology's facilities.
The company signed a non-binding agreement with Indiana this week to establish operations in the state.
